Abstract

This work presents results of a study of the alumina-niobium oxide composite (Al2O3)-(Nb2O5) dielectric properties in the radio frequency and microwave range. The characterization study was performed in a matrix of alumina by varying the amount of niobium oxide (2.5%–10% by weight. amount). The samples were sintherized at the temperature of 1350°C. The dielectric properties in the RF range were studied by impedance spectroscopy. The Hakki–Coleman method was adopted for measuring microwave properties. Besides a computer simulation was performed in order to characterize the material as a dielectric resonator antenna. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 58:1473–1479, 2016
