A conventional and ULV sprayer were compared for use on late-planted sweet corn. Six insecticides were used. Under the heavy population pressure of fall armyworm, Spodaptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith), encountered in this study, plots treated with the ULV sprayer produced the best plant protection as determined by observation and use of an insect damage index and by ears produced.
