A redetermination of the crystal structure of 'Thorium(IV) Tetrakis(trifluoroacetylacetonate)': Stereochemistry of the system [M(bidentate ligand)4(unidentate ligand)x±

Abstract

The structure of '[Th(CF3COCHCOCH3)4]' has been redetermined from diffractometer data and shown to be [Th(CF3COCHCOCH3)4(H2O)]. The stereochemistry is in agreement with that determined for the [M(bidentate ligand)4(unidentate ligand)]x± system by a calculation based on a repulsion model.
