Abstract

The infrared absor ption and emission spectra of carbon mon ox id c a nd carbo n dioxide have been m easured with high resolution in the regi on from 4 to 6 microns. The m easurem ents of the Cl2016 fundam ental band were carried out to a high precision, a nd a set of m olecu lar constants were calculated from the experimental data. In emiss ion the 1-0 and 2-1 bands of CO were measured in the P branch . Twenty Jines of Cl3016 were m easl1l'ed in absorption, and the m olec ular constants were calculated for this molecule. The fundam e ntal band of CO2 was founcl to have its cen ter at 2,349.16, Bo= 0.39026 0.00005, a nd Do= 12.6 0.8 X 10-8 cml
