The cumulative effect of OMPA in rats has been confirmed. It was possible to induce a tolerance to OMPA by gradually increasing the daily dose or by treating the animals daily with a sublethal dose for a prolonged period. Animals prepared in this manner were able to tolerate for several weeks, without symptoms, a daily dose which would normally kill all rats in a few days. No gross or microscopic pathological changes were seen in the organs of the rats examined in this study.
