Of course, this is not really an argument. It begs the question and also raises a question of whether anything along the lines of Russell's Principle of Acquaintance can be argued for effectively at all. In this paper, I make a case for an affirmative answer by offering an argument for a modified version of the principle. Some strengths and weaknesses of this argument will also be discussed. What is an object of acquaintance? Russell characterizes acquaintance in the following ways.
