Abstract

Tetramethylcyclopentadienyllithium was reacted with InCl to form [C 5 HMe 4 ]In (1). [C 5 HMeJTl (2) was prepared from tetramethylcyclopentadiene and T1OC 2 H 5 . The 1 H and 13 C NMR spectra of the new compounds as well as the X-ray crystal structures of the polymeric metallocenes 1 and 2 are reported and discussed in relation to the structures of other cyclopentadienylindium(I) and -thallium(I) compounds.
