The relationship of the rate of weight loss in denervation atrophy to time has been found to be defined by the equation where “k’ is a constant characteristic of the species and probably related to growth rate, “t’ is the time from loss of nerve viability, “A’ is the percent of the original weight which is loseable in atrophy, and “x’ is the percent of total weight lost at time “t’.
