One of the most important parasitoids of the tobacco budworm, Heliothis virescens (F.), is the braconid Cardiochiles nigriceps Viereck (Chamberlain and Tenhet 1926), reported specific to H. virescens by Lewis and Brazzel (1966). Later, Lewis et al. (1967) reported that H. subflexa (Guenée) would serve also as a host.
