Characterisation of Al2O3 for Use in Thermally and Optically Stimulated Luminescence Dosimetry

Abstract

This paper discusses several materials aspects which are important in the development and optimisation of Al<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf>:C for both thermoluminescence and optically stimulated luminescence applications, including aspects of crystal growth, luminescence spectra, trap energy distributions and general dosimetric properties.
