Abstract

Mono-ligand complexes of the quadridentate ligand 1,6-bis(2-pyridyl)-2,5-dithiahexane (NSSN) of the type MX2(NSSN) (M = Fe, Co, Ni; X = Cl, Br, I. NCS) have been prepared. The complexes are only sparingly soluble in polar organic solvents. They have appreciable conductivities in nitromethane due to replacement of X by a molecule of solvent, Magnetic and spectral data and stereochemical considerations indicate that the complexes have a cis -octahedral configuration.
