Studies on the relationship between hyperkalemia and hyperglycemia induced by adrenaline has been performed in this laboratory and it was suggested that hepatic potassium release was related to the phosphorylase activation (1).It was shown with isolated rat liver that hyperglycemia and liver phosphorylase activation were caused by perfusion with blood containing 3',5'-cyclic adenosine monophosphate (3',5'-AMP) (2).
