Synthetic Studies on Lytophilippine A: Synthesis of the Proposed Structure

Abstract

Synthesis of the proposed structure of lytophilippine A was accomplished employing SmI(2)-mediated 5-exo cyclization of an aldehydo β-alkoxyvinyl sulfoxide and ring-closing metathesis reaction.
