Abstract

Using a new calorimeter, accurate measurements have been made of the heat capacities of twelve hydrocarbons in the range 5 to 45 C, and of the heats of vaporization of fifty-nine hydrocarbons at 25 C. These hydrocarbons, having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms per molecule, include 35 paraffins, 3 alkylcyclopentanes, 10 alkylcyclohexanes, and 11 alkylbenzenes.
