The paper reviews the main problems encountered during investigations of the Oscillating Pressure Fields by the Pressure Sensitive Paint (PSP) technique. Measurement methodology, theoretical and experimental estimations of the PSP response time are presented. It is shown that currently available pressure sensitive paint formulations can be used for oscillation frequencies up to 20 Hz. The first experimental results obtained in the Transonic Wind Tunnel of DLR, Gottingen (TWG), on the pitching wing model are presented.
