Highly sensitive coherent optical frequency-domain reflectometry employing SSB-modulator with cm-level spatial resolution over 5 km

Abstract

We present OFDR employing an SSB-modulator and a narrow linewidth fibre-laser. We achieved cm-level resolution over 5 km measurement range and high sensitivity with a noise level 23 dB lower than the Rayleigh backscatter level. (2 pages)
