Abstract

The weights of dried eye-lenses collected from 71 free-living Australian wild rabbits, Oryctolagus cuniculus (L.), of known age have been subjected to statistical treatment. It has been found that the weight of the eye-lens is a reliable indicator of a rabbit's age up to approximately 150 days. A suitable transformation has been suggested for analysis of the relation between weights of organs and age of growing animals.
