may be a better explanation of the findings than the integration setting variable. It is also possible that both hypotheses are valid and that the two variables complement one another, in the particular historical situation covered by the study. Fortunately, it may be possible to ascertain the validity of both hypotheses by a reanalysis of the data. Differences between the integration settings in age of the parents and in age and ordinality of the children should be held constant. It would also be instructive to tabulate the data by the time of birth of the oldest child in the family. This important research study could gain in value through further analysis of the data.
