SUMMARYStings, with glands, were recovered from honeybees of different ages and analysed by gas chromatographic methods for iso-pentyl acetate. None was found in stings of newly emerged bees, but stings of older bees contained up to about 5 μg. Typical amounts were 1–5 μg. at 15–30 days of age.
