The objective of the study is to establish a method for simultaneously determining ethanol and mono-aromatic hydrocarbons existing in groundwater which is in association with contamination of ethanol blended gasoline. The equipment used in the analytical study involves the Agilent 6890N GC,headspace sampler, capillary column and a flame ionization detector. The parameters which are obtained in the experiment and prove validity of the method includes the linear range, detection limits, recovery rates and RSD for ethanol and benzene.
