SummaryInvestigations conducted with volunteers infected with a strain of Plasmodium falciparum from Malaya disclosed that the asexual erythrocytic forms of this strain were resistant to usually effective doses of chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, amodiaquine, mepacrine, proguanil, and pyrimethamine. Radical cure of infections with this strain was effected in 12 of 13 volunteers treated with 10 grains of quinine sulfate thrice daily for 7 or 10 days.
