A comparison of intermediate‐dose aspirin and placebo in rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract

This double‐blind study evaluates the time required fOT exacerbation to appear on substituting placebo for aspirin (ASA) in 33 patients with classical or definite rheumatoid arthritis. A daily record of symptoms and weekly grip strength and joint counts were evaluated. Three days of placebo exposure were as effective in demonstrating the anticipated exacerbation as langer exposures.
