Compared with the other commonly used antibiotics, matched patients in the ceftaroline fosamil treatment group had an equivalent (1%) or lower (compared with linezolid, 2%) in-hospital mortality rate, and significantly lower (p < 0.001) average unadjusted and regression-adjusted length of stay and inpatient costs (savings of $3398.80 compared with daptomycin).
