Ceftaroline fosamil treatment outcomes compared with standard of care among hospitalized patients with complicated skin and soft tissue infections

Abstract

Compared with the other commonly used antibiotics, matched patients in the ceftaroline fosamil treatment group had an equivalent (1%) or lower (compared with linezolid, 2%) in-hospital mortality rate, and significantly lower (p < 0.001) average unadjusted and regression-adjusted length of stay and inpatient costs (savings of $3398.80 compared with daptomycin).
