Review of sensor technology for mine safety monitoring systems: A holistic approach

Abstract

This paper reviews the current sensor technologies and communication methods available for mine safety monitoring. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technology use in recently developed mine safety monitoring systems is highlighted and compared with traditional wired monitoring systems.
