The Kirchhoff equation for the p-Laplacian

Abstract

Employing ideas from the theory of weakly hyperbolic differ- ential equations, we show the local well-posedness of the Kirchhoff equa- tion for the p-Laplacian in Sobolev spaces, where p need not be an even integer.
