Trees in a trial plantation containing eight cypress varieties were examined for cypress canker disease. Three fungi were associated with the disease-Seiridium cardinale (Wagener) Sutton & Gibson, S. unicorne (Cke & Ell.) Sutton, and Pestalotiopsis funerea (Desm.) Steyaert which occurred mainly in combina-tion with one of the other two fungi. The percentage of trees from which cypress canker fungi were isolated differed with the variety: x Cupressocyparis
