Tritiated water was found to be suitable for tracer work on the diffusion of water in glass. Diffusion profiles in silica glass were determined accurately, and showed that the diffusion coefficient varies with concentration and that the form of the concentration-dependence varies markedly with temperature, especially in the transformation range. The temperature-dependence of the solubility differs above and below the transformation range. Distinct differences in diffusion behavior and in solubility were observed among different batches of the glass. (auth)
