Abstract

Our data define an unconventional CD8(+) T-cell subset (polycytotoxic T cells) that is based on antigen recognition and function. The results link clinical and mechanistic evidence that glycolipid-responsive, polycytotoxic T cells contribute to protection against tuberculosis.
