A novel biomass-derived interconnected macroporous carbon tube structure was prepared for the first time by the freeze drying technique followed by carbonization of eggplant under N<sub>2</sub>, and Co(OH)(CO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>0.5</sub> was loaded.
