Abdominal obesity and gestational diabetes: the interactive role of magnesium

Abstract

Abdominally obese patients with lower plasma magnesium are more likely to show abnormal OGTT results. Insulin resistance, inflammatory response and oxidative stress are exaggerated in these patients.
