The Road to the Chinese Smart City: Progress, Challenges, and Future Directions

Abstract

In this article, the authors highlight the role data plays in smart cities from the perspective of the data life cycle-data collection, analysis, and data-driven smart services. They examine the progress of the Chinese Smart City project and identify three unique challenges that the project faces in smart city development.
