Evaluations of surgery resident performance correlate with success in board examinations.

Abstract

This study shows that faculty's subjective evaluations predicted resident success on the ABS certifying examination and also endorses the ABS oral examination as an effective measure of the candidate's ability to communicate surgical knowledge.
