The morbidity and mortality rates of P. aeruginosa infections were appreciable in abdominal organ transplant recipients. P. aeruginosa or concomitant bacteremia and an elevated serum creatinine level were associated with higher crude mortality, and septic shock independently predicted higher infection-related mortality.
