Abstract

HE primary objective of this paper is to develop an analytic methodology which can serve as a basis to estimate the production function for crops using irrigation water. Within this methodology we will attempt to show how it is possible to impute a value to the irrigation water applied within any one irrigation cycle. A further objective is to develop a model to determine an optimum irrigation program which could bring into account varying water prices and changing commodity prices during the growing season.
