CO<sub>2</sub> activation and fixation: highly efficient syntheses of hydroxy carbamates over Au/Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>

An effective route for the syntheses of hydroxyl carbamates from CO<sub>2</sub>, epoxides and amines over Au/Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> was developed. Such a process could fulfill the optimum utilization of CO<sub>2</sub>, which is of significance from the standpoint of green chemistry and sustainable development.
