Preliminary Design of the Poloidal Field AC/DC Converter System for the ITER Coil Power Supply

Abstract

This paper introduces the preliminary design of the poloidal field alternating-current/direct-current converter for the coil power supply system applied in the ITER project; it includes the description of design inputs, converter topology optimization, system analysis, electrical design, test procedure and criteria, related interface, and control and protection.
