Analytical Notes—An Investigation of the Applicability of Ferrate Ion for Disinfection

Abstract

A series of investigations on Fe(VI) reveals its powerful oxidant qualities, studied in concentrations between 1.2 mg/l and 6 mg/l, are comparable to those of more common disinfectants, and also may reduce the organic precursors of organohalides.
