A simple and efficient Cu(<sc>i</sc>)-catalyzed strategy for synthesis of mutisubstituted furans has been developed and this ligand- and additive-free annulation method is well suitable for both nonactivated arylmethyl ketones 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds.
