The principles of engineering mechanics and the application of these principles to civil engineering problems cover a broad spectrum of topics ranging from theory to practice. These proceedings papers reflect this fact. The papers are divided among ten main areas: 1) computers and information systems; 2) computational mechanics; 3) dynamics; 4) elasticity; 5) experimental analysis and instrumentation; 6) fluids; 7) inelastic behavior; 8) probabilistic methods; 9) materials properties, and 10) stability. Seismic problems and general topics are also covered.
