The capability of a dynamic programming conduit design technique was expanded to cover systems with diverging branch pipelines. An interactive computer programming approach was used in optimization. Optimization design is valid with little restriction. Design applies to complete turbulent, transient, as well as laminar, flow conditions. The decision variable, pipe size, assumes only pipe sizes that are available on the market.
