Long Term Wave Statistics off Botany Bay

Abstract

Three years of records from a Waverider wave recording system are analysed to present wave-height exceedance data. Seasonal and directional variability are investigated. The Moskowitz spectrum is found to be satisfactory in describing the period spectrum of large waves off Botany Bay and a bivariate log normal distribution is proposed in H{rms} and T{z}.
