Abstract

Two record-large odd-numbered Ln<sub>27</sub> lanthanide clusters, each one featuring one CO<sub>3</sub><sup>2−</sup> and eight ClO<sub>4</sub><sup>−</sup> groups as mixed anion templates, were obtained by controlling the hydrolysis of the Ln<sup>3+</sup> ions in the presence of simple propionate ligands.
