Abstract A considerable body of knowledge has accumulated concerning the polymerization of alkylene oxides, and more and more workers have become interested in this area of polymer chemistry. Only the low-molecular-weight polyglycols were known to any great extent before 1950, except in the research of Staudinger [1] in this area.
