Abstract

The barometric efficiency of a well may be determined from the slope of a graph of ∑ΔB against ∑ΔW, in which ∑ΔB is the arithmetical summation of the incremental changes, ΔB, of the atmospheric pressure and ∑ΔW is the summation of the incremental changes, ΔW, of the water level in the well, summed according to certain rules. The summing according to these rules eliminates the incremental components in the water level caused by influences other than changes in atmospheric pressure. The method provides a means for determining the barometric efficiency of a well more precisely.
