Abstract

An ethyl acetate extract derived from the stem bark of Amoora rohituka exhibited antitumor activity on mice inoculated with Dalton's lymphoma ascites cells (DLA). Intraperitoneal administration of the extract at doses of 10 or 20 mg/kg/day prolonged the median survival time of the animals. It showed cytotoxicity against Dalton 's lymphoma ascites cells with a 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 9 μg/ml, with no activity against Hep-2 cells from a tumor of the larynx.
