The results of an experimental geotechnical research program that shows the influence of soil type on soil-reinforcement interaction under static pullout loading conditions are reported in this article. The articles shows how soil-geosynthetic interaction is complex because it is affected by structural, geometrical, and mechanical properties of the geosynthetic, as well as by loading, boundary conditions and the mechanical properties of the soil. The article focuses on the effects of soil type on the interface behavior under pullout loading conditions.
