Abstract

Determinations of the total hexosamine content of biological preparations, usually by modifications of the Elson & Morgan (1933) colorimetric method, are widely employed. It is frequently of greater interest, however, to know the separate amounts of glucosamine and galactosamine that are present. Various procedures for such determinations are now available
