Abstract

The CD4+ count was decreasing the presence, and the severity of oral lesions was increasing in this study. The presence of oral lesions may lead to a positive diagnostic of HIV. Disease progression is characterized by increased prevalence of some oral lesions as candidiasis, hairy leukoplakia, and Kaposi sarcoma. The severity of oral lesions was more pronounced with a CD4+ count <200 cells/mm(3).
