Nanotechnology has emerged as one of the most innovative scientific field in agriculture. It provides opport unity to develop improved systems for monitoring environmental conditions and delivering nutrients or pesticides as appropriate, improve our understanding of the biology of different crops and thus potentially enhance yields or nutritional values. I n addition, it can offer routes to added value crops or environmental remediation. The science of nanotechnology have the ability to w ork at the atomic, molecular and even sub-molecular levels in order to create and use material structures, devices and systems wi th new properties and functions. It is extremely diverse a nd multidisciplinary field, ranging from novel extensi ons of conventional device physics, to completely new appr oaches based upon molecular self-assembly to developing new materials with dimensions on the nanoscale. This paper reviews the nanotechnology with an emphasis on agricultural advancement.
