essential oils of plants namely Citronella (Cymbopogan winterianus), Citrodora (Eculyptus citrodora), Lemon grass (Cymbopogan flexuosus), Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) and Palmorosa (Cymbopogan martini) were tested for their insecticidal and ovicidal activities against adults and eggs of Callosobruchus maculatus at 5% concentration at 96 h of exposure. The results revealed that the highest mortality and ovicidal activity was recorded in Citrodora oil (96%, 88.43%) followed by Lemon grass oil (92 %, 45.25%) at 96 h of exposure.
